Watch out for…

Dear Friends

I know it’s a huge gap! And loads of news to tell you! `Spanish Masala’ is my new film. The cast from Malayalam includes Dileep, Kunchacko Bobban, Biju Menon, Kala Ranjini, Vinaya Prasad, Nelson and Gopalan. Remaining set of actors will be from Europe. Benny P.Nayarambalam writes the screenplay, Loganathan wields the camera, Gokuldas does art direction, Ranjan Abraham handles editing and make up to be done by Sreejith Guruvayur. Costume designers are Arun Manohar and Aravind.R. The film is being produced by Naushad with Big screen as the banner. Nazim and Sajith are line producers. Vinod Shornur will be the production controller.

As the name suggests the story has Spain in the backdrop. Shooting will commence at Madrid and nearby locations. Spanish Masala is a love story with a humorous tint. I was flying along with the scripting, song composition and location hunt that I could not fetch you the nuances of getting them together! As you know I am still on Cinema Karyangal in Amrita TV as well. But let me assure you now not to trample with this thread that ties both of us together and keep giving you the news as warm as suggested by the name of the film!

We have a new song writer Venugopal for whom Vidyasagar sets the music. Venugopal so far has written four songs for us and has an advertisement industry background.

We did reckee trips to Spain, Austria and Check republic of which I will be detailing in the next post. Till then you take care,
Love
LJ

  5. Sir,

Some interesting tips about Spain (Collected it from Net as a part of my Job)

    Official Name: Kingdom of Spain
    Capital : Madrid
    Currency : Euro
Time Zone : GMT/UTC + 01:00 hour (Around 3.30 hours behind of Indian Time)
Religion : Spain has no official religion

    Food / Drink in Spain

Eating out in Spain is relatively cheap and meals are usually substantial instead of gourmet. The Spanish tradition of tapas is a good way to sample the local food. Tapas are small dishes of snacks which are served anytime especially in small bars. They cover all types of foods from seafood to vegetables. Many Spanish people make an evening of hopping from bar to bar trying different tapas. Another of Spain’s favourites is Serrano Ham. Spain is famous for its fish delicacies and simply must be sampled, especially if you get to coastal areas. Paella has long been a Spanish favourite, based on either meat or seafood. Every region in Spain has its own specialities.

Spain produces massive amounts of oranges. The diet in Spain is reported to be one of the most healthy diets in the world. The combination of olives, fresh fruit, seafood and fresh vegetables can help sustain a healthy and long life. Primarily Spain is a wine drinking country with each region producing its own special wines. Spanish brandy is very different from French brandy. It is cheap and pleasant although specialists find it a little sweet. Popular brands include 103, Magno and Carlos which are distilled in Jerez.
    Life
Spanish men tend to maintain eye contact with females for longer, although this does not mean anything.
The Spanish way of life is somewhat slower than the rest of Europe, especially in the south. This may be seen as lazy, but when the Spanish work, they work hard. They have adapted to the weather and play hard too. It is quite common for life to begin when the sun goes down, especially in the summer. They are a very happy people who enjoy life to the full. They love music, dance and food.
Spanish people are very proud of their history and culture and are very happy when foreigners take an interest. They love to show off and this is so evident in their dance such as flamenco. They need little excuse for a party of a fiesta and this is now part of everyday life in Spain.
Smoking is now banned in all interior public places in Spain although it is common for people to take no notice. Most bars still allow smoking and it is signposted on the door.
Aranjuez Prison (Spain): a prison with cosy family cells (Among one of the 10 of the World’s Most Unusual Prisons)

Welcome to a jail Spain says is the only the one in the world with cell units for families: Disney characters on the walls, a nursery, a playground for toddlers. The idea is for kids to bond with their imprisoned parents while young enough to be oblivious to their surroundings, and for inmates seeking rehabilitation to learn parenting skills. The prison in this town, 40 kilometers (25 miles) south of Madrid, has 36 cell units for families, although now only 16 are occupied, most with Latin Americans. The units of the special F-1 section are known in jail jargon as ‘five-star cells’.
