  1. It is heartening to know that Neelathamara is running well! And I am proud of being one among the luckiest to get a chance in a film with MT’s script and your direction! Remember me? I am Balachandran (Balan Vakeel in the film) from Thrissur.

The film is simply wonderfull with the lyrical but forceful depiction the demureness of a Valluvanadan village and its characters. Most of my
friends who congtratulated me for having associated with gem of a film
did not forget to specially mention the strong presence of ‘MOONNAMATHE
    PATI’ of the KOVANI!

Kudos to you, Producer Suresh Kumar and the whole team…

A thousand thanks to you all…..

And special thanks to you for introducing me to MT my idol and leting me
give my respects and receive his blessings before the take…(The shudder passed through my spine at that moment still lingers!)

One again my boundless gratitude to you..

I will be thrilled if you may please reply..

    With love and respect,

  4. Hello sir,

Saw the movie. Awesome!! Me too didn’t see the first version. So, it was a new movie for me. May I ask you one thing? Did you use the same font used in the first movie for the title? when I searched in Google Images for neelathamara ( I saw an old poster with the picture of Ambika.’neelathamara’ was written in the same style as that of new version

  8. Hearty congratulations dear Lal Jose sir..We saw NEELATHAMARA.Really marvellous! It is so well directed that one will not feel that it is a remake of Sri.Hariharan’s Neelathamara. All the actors have done justice 2 their roles & we congratulate U 4 the effort rendered.

  9. good movie, good work, one of the best direction in lal jose careeer.sir ,i sent 5 letters to you but i didnt find any have the caliber to achieve a great position not only in malayalam industry but also in

  11. Dear Lal Jose,
Congratulations for a job well done.
The one and half hour movie was like poetry in motion and in full flow. You brought the best out of a wonderful script ,and the best out of the new faces Kailash and Archana. The visuals depicted the Kerala country side in all its beauty.
Good luck and all the best to you and Suresh who went to produce this movie with a difference.

  12. I saw neelathamara yesterday. The movie is well directed , the songs are great and the technical work is good. Kudos to you sir for that.
But i dont see the need for having that movie remade. Maybe , after the original “Neelathamara”, we have seen many movies on similar lines: “rich guy falling in love with poor girl and marrying someone else” . And i doubt the relevance of this movie in todays context and the point it tries to convey, there is nothing new. All that the movie does is to showcase your talent as a director. We really expect more than that from you sir. I was rather disappointed after the movie.

  13. Dear sir
I have seen the movie twice already its woderful as already metioned to you . sice the movie was soo captivating we felt it was a short film and could have been a bit longer
parvathis acting was really good that it brought tears to my eyes .
you are always goodi what ever you do and we wish you all the best aand good health for you and your family god bless you and all workig with you
wish you all avery happy christmas ad newyear

  14. Dear Mr.Jose, It has been a refreshing experience to see ‘Neelathamara’; more so because I am of that generation as of the characters in the movie. I have watched your earlier movies also and have liked them well. I would like to make a few comments, if I may.

    1. Background score:- Most Malayalam movie makers ignore this vital component. It is very important for setting the mood, the period and the whole tone of the film. In Neelathamara, background score was jarring. Especially the vocal ‘la la la’, the cacophony as Kunjimalu walks up the stairs and many other occasions. Please make it subtle and sensitive.

    2. Samvrta Sunil as Retnam:- Samvrta is an actor with tremendous talent. You should have used her as the older Ratnam also. Apart from Mrs.Unni, Samvrta is the only person who has delivered the role. I hope you will use her talent in future too.

    3. Archana :- She is a pretty girl, but failed to imbibe the village girl Kunjimalu. There is a certain quality of innocent, suppressed sexual energy for girls of that age, which she could not emulate.

    4. Art Direction : Excellent, like the subtle use of ‘Camel’mark matchbox!

Many more things to say, but I would stop, for the time being. Thanks again for a good movie!

  15. ithuvare film kananjanthukond.. filmine patti onnum parayan enik arahathayilla… bt song supper…. ente mathram afiprayamalla…. Ahalia group Abudhai illulla ella staffinteyum afiprayam… pattu kondu mathramalla athinte picturization is amazing…. we hpe more films from u like this…. god bles u… personally i am a great fan of u…. tk care…. we all r always wth u… go ahead…

  16. Dear LalJose,

Seeing the movie a second time I feel is a must to gauge in professionally or otherwise. I felt the following seeing it the second time.
The background score could have been controlled. It was let loose.
Samritha Sunil and Ms SreeDevi Unni were standing out in performance. The former exceptionally captive in certain scenes. Truly talented girl.!
Archana though refreshing and did her best perhaps missed the age of the character she donned.
And as I mentioned in my earlier mail, the visuals were really good.
And again the movie gives one a feeling of having seen a good work of cinema. Good luck and all the best.
And Merry Xmas and wonderful 2010 to you and family

  17. I have seen this film recently … looks good but still something is missing …film is little bit dragging …!! but the film is far better than the brainless films which has released recently in malayalam industry ..!! Again Congratz lal chetta …!! nw we are expecting more films like this from your end ..!! Congrats Whole Team ……………………!!!

  18. Dear Sir

    My heart-filled congratulations !!!

We are residing in Sharjah-UAE and saw the film as soon as it was released here.Your direction is superb and you have once again proved that you are one of the best directors in Malayalam industry.

The visual retreat was excellent and it gave nostalgic feelings of our villages. All the actors especially the newcomers have done their characters perfectly. The music is the foremost attraction of the film.Hats off to Vidyasagar,Sreekumar, and Shreya Ghoshal. The romantic scenes have been shot extremely well.

Neelathamara is one of the best films I have ever watched.Thank you so much for creating such a good film. All the best for all your future endeavors.
